Tattoo Cover Up Kit: Look the Way You Want to Look On Your Wedding Day

May 27, 2014

Chances are good that at least part of the reason you got a tattoo was because you were exercising control over your look. Whether it was a tattoo to honor someone else, honor something about yourself, pay tribute to a favorite band or movie, or any of another million things, by getting the tattoo you were changing something about your body’s appearance. And unless someone forced you to do it, you were getting that tattoo because you wanted to. And that freedom right there is an awesome thing! Just don’t forget that you also have the freedom to cover your tattoo on your wedding day. That too is up to you!

Now, we know there are many reasons for wanting a tattoo cover up kit that have nothing to do with what you want. Perhaps your mom doesn’t want your grandma to see your tattoo, or your soon-to-be-spouse’s family won’t approve. If those are the scenarios, and you wish you could show your tattoo, we’re sorry you’re in such a predicament. But of all the brides to whom we sell tattoo cover up kits, the majority of them are doing it because they want to. 99% of the time they are happy with their tattoo. It is an important part of them, was a choice they’re glad they’re made, and in many cases, they wouldn’t trade it for just about anything. And all that considered, on this day – their wedding day – they want to keep it under cover. It might be that the cut of their dress doesn’t work well with its placement, or that it’s usually covered and it won’t be. There are countless reasons brides want to cover their tattoos for their wedding day, and whatever they are, we have the tattoo cover up kit to help them do so.

If a bride-to-be in your life wants to cover her tattoo, and you know it’s her decision and hers alone, we hope you’ll honor that choice she has made. I knew a lovely young woman whose friends challenged her decision right up until her wedding day and it made her unnecessarily second guess herself more than once. You were able to get a tattoo in the first place because you and you alone control your body. And if you want to cover that tattoo for your wedding, or any number of reasons or occasions, we encourage you to do what makes you happy. After all, the pursuit of happiness is why you’re getting married, right? :)

Dimitra Designs, Dressing Brides from Head to Toe

Feb 13, 2014

Bridal ShoesOne of the most important, but often overlooked, parts of a brides wedding day wardrobe are bridal shoes. When all the attention goes into finding the ideal bridal gown, not to mention selecting bridesmaid dresses, flower girl gowns and all of the necessary alterations that must happen. Instead of going from one store to the next, Dimitra Designs has a wonderful selection of bridal shoes for your big day! What you put on your feet is just as important as your dress. After all, if your feet hurt, how can you produce that dazzling smile that you’ll see for the rest of your life in photos of the big day?

When selecting your bridal shoes, make sure the style is right for you. If you’re someone who wears flats all the time, don’t force yourself into wearing four-inch heels. Similarly, if open-toed sandals aren’t your thing, go with a simple pump. The important thing to remember is that your shoes express your own individual style. Our expert consultants are here to help. Make sure you have your feet measured properly and keep in mind that sizes vary amongst manufacturers. It’s not unusual to need a larger size for comfort. Visit to request an appointment for your bridal consultation!

Timeless Wedding Traditions: Something Blue

Aug 9, 2013

Unlike the other lines in this traditional wedding rhyme, something blue is open to interpretation. It doesn’t have to be something as simple as a blue bridal sash or veil. Incorporating something blue invites a creativity you don’t really have with the other three “must haves.” Let’s take a look at some of the creative ways you can incorporate blue into your special occasion.

- A blue bouquet can be a beautiful accent to a white or ivory gown. With so many beautiful blue flowers to choose from, it’s a great way to incorporate a pop of blue.

- Blue suede shoes? Well maybe not, but you can certainly have the bottoms of your wedding day heels painted blue. Think of it as a bridal twist on that famous Christian Louboutin look.

- Sparking sapphires are a beautiful blue accent that can be worn on in any piece of jewelry. Whether it’s a ring, a pendant or a set of earrings, sapphires are always stylish!

- Nail polish is an easy way to incorporate a beautiful soft shade of blue. It’s important to consider your jewelry and makeup when choosing a blue nail polish. You don’t want to pick a shade that will become the center of attention.

- A blue garter or blue lingerie can be a more intimate way to sneak a little blue into your ceremony.

Whatever blue you choose, be sure it’s a compliment to your bridal gown. The blue item is a wonderful opportunity to enhance any bridal ensemble. Don’t let it upstage the things that really matters on your wedding day.

Timeless Wedding Traditions: Something New

Jul 26, 2013

As a tradition, brides incorporate something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue in their weddings. While our last post focused on something old, in this post we’ll discuss the tradition of incorporating something new into your wedding. Each tradition signifies something special for the couple, and something new is meant to signify optimism for the future of the new couple.

There are many ways a bride can wear this tradition on her wedding, but we’ve listed a few of the more creative ways.

- Have a custom perfume created that you can wear on your wedding day.

- Incorporate your new initials into your bridal wear. You can do this by writing them on the bottom of your bridal shoes or having them stitched into your veil or gown.

- Carry a key to your new home in your bridal purse.

- Feeling daring? Get a new tattoo that represents your love for your future husband.

- Start a charm bracelet for your bride and give her one charm every year on your anniversary.

- Do something different with your hair, such as a new haircut or highlights.

What are some unique ideas that you have for wearing something new on your wedding day? Let us know with a comment! Check back with next week when we discuss the tradition of wearing something borrowed on your wedding day.

Timeless Wedding Traditions: Something Old

Jul 18, 2013

For years, brides have been incorporating timeless traditions into their wedding day events. One of the most well-known traditions states that every bride should wear “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.” This time honored tradition came from an Old English rhyme, and the objects are meant to act as good luck charms for the bride.

Each object stands for something different. For example, something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed stands for borrowed happiness; and something blue signifies purity, love and fidelity. Here are some great ways to incorporate each tradition into your wedding day.

Something Old: More often than not this comes in the form of a piece of jewelry or another item that has been passed down throughout a family, but if your family doesn’t have any such tradition you can look for items at thrift shops or vintage jewelry stores. Some ideas include:

- Mark ceremony readings with an antique bookmark.
- Choose a pair of vintage bridal shoes to wear as you walk down the aisle.
- Carry a photograph of your parents or grandparents on their wedding day in your purse.
* Have your wedding ceremony at a historic venue.
* Wear the bridal gown that your mother wore when she was married.
* Sew a piece of your mother’s wedding dress or father’s tuxedo onto the inside of your wedding dress.

How did you incorporate something old into your wedding day? Let us know with a comment. Don’t forget to check back with us next week as we discuss the time honored tradition of including something new in your wedding day.

Choosing the Perfect Bridal Shoe for Your Wedding

Jan 31, 2013

It’s your wedding day, and you’re absolutely allowed to be a shoe snob for this wondrous occasion! Sure, you might not be able to see your shoes when you look in the mirror, but wrapping your feet in anything less than spectacular is unacceptable. On your wedding day, your shoes should be just as fabulous as your veil and wedding dress. Here are a few helpful tips on how to find the perfect bridal shoes.

Contrasting colors can make you stand out! It’s fun and flirty to wear a shoe that doesn’t exactly match with your wedding dress. Choose a color that coordinates with something in your wedding décor, or make a statement with bold colors that differ from your white gown.

If you want to match, try and find bridal shoes that perfectly match your wedding dress. The differences between bright white and cream can be subtle at first, but when these two colors are close together, the difference is extremely noticeable.

Texture and material are extremely important to take into consideration. Leather pumps will appear less reflective and bright than a pair of patent leather pumps. Certain wedding dresses work with certain materials.

Make sure the shoes fit. Get your foot measured before purchasing shoes for your wedding. It’s also important to walk around with them on before the wedding to ensure they’re comfortable and not hazardous to walk in.

Most importantly – Find a shoe that really makes you swoon. Your wedding day should be as perfect as you want it to be from the décor to your shoes, make sure you’re satisfied and in love with whatever shoe choice you pick. There’s no reason to settle for anything but the best. If those Allure Bridal shoes are screaming your name, that’s how you know you’re making the right choice.

At we have a variety of bridal shoes to choose from, including Benjamin Adams bridal shoes and Allure Bridal shoes. If you have questions regarding your bridal shoes don’t hesitate to give us a call at our toll free number 866-866-0968. We look forward to helping make your wedding day one you’ll never forget!
