Wedding Dress Wonders

Roz la Kelin Glamour Plus Wedding Gowns

Apr 14, 2014

As any plus size woman understands very well, there are ultimately two types of plus size clothing. First, you have plus size clothes that were made specifically for a fuller figure. Every angle is considered and fits and flatters your curves beautifully. Then, there are the plus size clothes that seem as though they were simply sized up from a smaller size. If it’s a top, the overall length and sleeves are too short. If it’s a pair of pants, they usually don’t have enough room in the hips or rear. And if it’s a dress, everything can be completely out of whack! Luckily, Roz la Kelin Glamour Plus size wedding dresses are part of the first type of plus size clothing, with each dress impeccably designed for a fuller figure. The result is nothing short of spectacular, making this deserving designer a top selection for many plus size brides.

When you browse our collection of Roz la Kelin Glamour Plus size wedding dresses, you’ll quickly notice that getting the right fit wasn’t the only task in the designer’s mind. Roz la Kelin dresses are truly breathtaking in their beauty; unique without straying too far from classic style, and of an obviously high quality in every way. There isn’t a single gown in her collection that I wouldn’t be more than happy to wear myself, and I’m confident you’ll agree!

These designs are at once classic and modern; fiercely feminine with a grown-up grandeur. They combine many elements while looking chic, pretty and polished – never the least bit over-the-top or ‘busy’. Many designs also have elements that can be tricky to find, including lace sleeves. Rather than looking like an addition to the dress, Roz la Kelin makes the sleeves an integral aspect of the design, giving your arms coverage that is light, ladylike, and fuss-free, unlike a shawl, jacket or bolero can be. Browse our collection today and see for yourself! We hope you love them as much as we do.

Choosing a 2014 Bridal Dress

Aug 23, 2013

Choosing your 2014 bridal dress is one of the most important fashion decisions you’ll make in your life. The dress you choose should reflect your personality, taste and lifestyle. The color, style and embellishments all come together to make your day a memorable one.

One of the most important features of a wedding dress is the dresses color and pattern. Some brides choose a traditional white wedding dress, or an off white wedding dress, such as candlelight or champagne. If you enjoy following the latest trends try on 2014 bridal dresses in shades of blush. It has just the slightest hint of pink that is flattering to most skin tones.

Details and embellishments make your dress pop. Fabric gathered into floral designs to accentuate your waist, shoulder or bust line are a new look for the upcoming season. Beautiful lace, beads and sparkly crystals also add a magical effect to your gown.

Selecting your sleeve type is another important consideration. Many gowns are sleeveless, while others have long or 3/4 length sleeves. Slim brides or those with shapely arms may choose a flattering cap sleeve.

Whether you choose a sleek, column style gown or one reminiscent of Cinderella, your dress choice is the key to a breathtaking wedding day. What type of wedding dress is your favorite?

How to Find the Perfect Plus Size Wedding Dress

Aug 16, 2013

Finding the perfect wedding dress is difficult for any bride to be, but when most bridal boutiques only have dress samples in sizes 8, 10 or 12, it can be an absolute headache for a plus sized bride. That’s why we’ve put together some tips on what to look for in a plus size wedding dress. This guide should help you make a more informed decision, and hopefully help you find a wedding dress faster.

Consider your body shape

The first step toward choosing the right plus sized wedding dress is knowing your body shape. The ideal dress varies depending on our body shape. An hourglass or pear shaped bride should lean toward A-line dresses while apple or square shaped brides should consider something with an empire waist.

Consider the material

Heavy fabrics can have the tendency of making people look heavier. Gowns made from lighter fabrics like silk taffeta or organza give the opposite appearance. Light overlays of lace can enhance the airy look of a dress and help conceal imperfections.

Consider any adornments

Adornments like beads or crystals add visual weight to a dress. The placement of adornments near the bust or waistline can draw the eye to areas you may not want to accentuate. Use your discretion when trying on a dress with intricate bead work to be sure the design flatters your figure.

Know Your Numbers

Wedding dresses are not sized like regular clothing. It’s not uncommon for a wedding dress to be sized 2 sizes larger than a regular dress.  If you typically wear a size 16, you would wear a size 18 in a bridal dress. If you’re tall or petite it’s important to find a dress that accommodates you.

Timeless Wedding Traditions: Something Borrowed

Jul 31, 2013

Brides have been incorporating something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue in their weddings for many centuries. The tradition stemmed from an Old English rhyme, where every item was said to bring good luck. Most commonly these trinkets are received, or borrowed from family members and each element represents something different. Something old representing continuity, something new representing optimism, and something blue representing fidelity, love and purity. Something borrowed represents borrowed happiness.

There are many ways a bride can wear the traditional something borrowed trinket on her wedding day! The following list is just a few creative ways to incorporate something borrowed into your wedding.

- It’s common that a bride wears something their mother wore on their wedding day. From a garter to a bridal veil, there are many ways you can wear something borrowed.

- Borrow a beautiful necklace or another piece of jewelry from a close friend or relative

- Any accessory borrowed will do, consider borrowing a handkerchief from a relative or friend. The something borrowed element doesn’t have to be visible in order to keep up with the tradition.

- Consider borrowing a prayer book from a family member or friend! Perhaps your mother had the same prayer book when she was a kid, and even had it when she was married.

What are some of your unique and creative ideas for wearing something borrowed on your wedding day? Leave a comment below, and let us know what you did to incorporate the something borrowed element into your wedding day wear.
