Announcement of the 2015 Miss America Pageant

The most beloved pageant in the United States, the 2015 Miss America Competition, will once again take the runway in its birthplace, Atlantic City, NJ, on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Whether you plan to attend the event in person, or like millions of people across the country, watch the pageant on television ABC, beginning at 9 PM EDT, one of perennial highlights is always viewing the beautiful Miss American pageant dresses worn by all of the contestants.

2015 Miss America Pageant

Preliminary pageant rounds will run September 9-11 at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall, with the anticipated “Show Us Your Shoes” parade occurring on the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk on September 13. Tickets will go on sale sometime this spring. Those interested in attending the event can monitor the Miss America website, or Miss America’s Facebook.

Along with viewing the contestants from the 50 United States plus the country’s territories, one of the highlights of this year’s pageant will be seeing 2014 Miss America Nina Davuluri, the first Miss America of Indian descent, and the gorgeous pageant gown she will wear to the event. On November 9th Miss Venezuela, Gabriela Isler was crowned Miss Universe 2013. Gabriela looked ravishing in a sparkling, long sleeved, silver pageant dress. She may have scored the crown, but she wasn’t the only pageant contestant who was turning heads that night! Here are some of our favorite dresses and style from this year’s Miss Universe pageant. Miss Puerto Rico, Monic Perez was an absolute knockout in her bright yellow, strapless pageant dress. The long train only added to this Puerto Rican beauty’s exotic look!

2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 9

Are you ready for one of the biggest nights in the pageant world? This Sunday, at 9 pm Eastern, all of the 2014 Miss America Pageant contestants will take the stage for the 2014 Miss America Pageant. While we can’t wait to see everyone in their beauty pageant dresses, Pageant Designs has been counting down the weeks until this momentous pageant by introducing you to this year’s contestants.2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants

Miss Texas: On July 6th, Ivana Hall was crowned Miss Texas 2013. This 23 year old Cedar Hill native is a student at Texas Woman’s University. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Business Professionals of America. In addition to being crowned Miss Texas, Ivana was also Miss Tarrant County 2012, and Miss North Texas 2013.

Miss Utah: Ciera Pekarcik has dreams of becoming a news anchor and with her many scholastic honors she’s very well on her way to achieving her dream. Ciera is a student at the Utah Valley University, where she’s received the Sons of Utah Pioneers Scholarship, the Excellence in Academic Performance Award and several other scholarships and achievements. Ciera was also crowned Miss Panoramaland 2012.

Miss Vermont: Jeanelle Achee is a 22 year old from Rochester, Vermont. Jeanelle is a nursing major at the University of Vermont, and hopes to obtain a doctorate in nursing. Eventually, Jeanelle wishes to open a women’s clinic and support survivors of violence.

Miss Virgin Islands: A student at the University of the Virgin Islands, Ashley Massiah is excited to participate in the 2014 Miss America Pageant. This talented young beauty queen is 21 years old, and has goals of becoming a criminal attorney.

2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 8

In less than a week, one of the most prestigious pageants will air live on ABC from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. Over the past few weeks we’ve been counting down to this 2014 Miss America Pageant, introducing you to all of this year’s lovely contestants.Miss-America-Contestants

Miss Pennsylvania: Reigning from Butler, Pa, Annie Rosellini is a student at Point Park University. When she’s not studying or gracing the stage in colorful pageant dresses, Annie enjoys dancing. In addition to being crowned Miss Pennsylvania, Annie was also crowned Miss Greater Juniata Valley.

Miss Puerto Rico: 23 year old Shenti Lauren is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Puerto Rico. She is a recipient of the State House of Representatives Award, and hopes to become a broadcast meteorologist one day.

Miss Rhode Island: Jessica Marfeo is a junior pre-med student at the University of Rhode Island. The blonde beauty is a cancer survivor and is proud to be competing for the title of Miss America 2013 in honor of her home state.

Miss South Carolina: Hailing from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Brooke Mosteller will be representing South Carolina in this year’s Miss America Pageant. Brooke is a 23 year old student at the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has ambitions of becoming a chief prosecutor of the attorney general’s office.

Miss South Dakota: Tessa Dee is the picture of southern charm. This southern belle is a 22 year old graduate of the University of South Dakota, where she studied heath science and psychology. This beauty queen is involved with track and gymnastics, which we’ll see during the talent portion of the competition.

Miss Tennessee: Shelby Thompson is a 23 year old beauty from Franklin, Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she studied public relations and business. Shelby is also a Nationally Endorsed Spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

As we count down the days to the big pageant, we continue our look at the lovely ladies who are competing to be crowned this year’s Miss America. Miss Nebraska: JaCee Pilkington hails from Minatare Nebraska. At 21, this accomplished Doane College student is determined to obtain a Juris Doctorate and masters of business administration in a dual major program. She plans on wowing the judges with her vocal skills and her career ambition is to open a non-profit organization to assist military personnel.

Miss Nevada: With a life mission to help others, Diana Sweeney from Moundhouse, Nevada is well on her way to achieving her dreams. Attending the University of Nevada Reno, Sweeney is planning to obtain a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. in both math and education—and to become a college mathematics professor. In addition to supporting her platform of “Special Olympics: Special Deeds for Special Needs,” Sweeney, now 20, will perform a lyrical dance number for the judges.

Miss New Hampshire: A nationally ranked collegiate sportscaster, Samantha Russo is hoping to turn her passion into a sports broadcasting career. The 23 year old’s platform is “Kick Butts: Tobacco Education and Prevention.” Russo’s family and friends in Nashua, and her colleagues at Emerson College will be cheering her on as she serenades the judges with her vocal talents at this year’s Miss America pageant.

Miss New Jersey: At age 21, Cara McCollum dreams of graduating from Princeton University with an English degree and to become a writer and broadcaster. Her platform issue of “Giving the Gift of Reading” shares her passion with others and makes her hometown of Princeton proud. She’ll be performing a piano piece for the Miss America judges.

Miss New Mexico: Dreaming of a career in public relations, 22 year old Alexis Victoria Duprey is attending New Mexico State University and hopes to obtain a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies. Duprey’s platform issue is “The Power of One: Single Parent Families” and she’ll be performing a vocal number for the judges on Pageant night.

In celebration, we’re counting down the weeks until this momentous beauty pageant with our 2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants blog series. Miss Massachusetts: Amanda Narciso is a 23 year old graduate of Salve Regina University. This budding beauty hails from Taunton, Massachusetts, and one day hopes to become a dance therapist.

Miss Michigan: 20 year old Haley Williams is a student at the University of Alabama. This baton twirling beauty has been helping children overcome grief through her platform, “Through a Child’s Eyes: Conquering Childhood Grief”. In addition to being crowned the 2013 Miss Michigan, Haley was also awarded the preliminary talent award and the preliminary swimsuit award.

Miss Minnesota: On June 15, 2013, 20-year old Rebecca Yeh was crowned Miss Minnesota 2013. Rebecca is a student at Ohio Northern University, where she’s studying to become a clinical pharmacist. In addition to taking the crown for Miss Minnesota 2013, Rebecca was also awarded the preliminary talent award and the overall interview award.

Miss Mississippi: 23 year old Chelsea Rick is a student at the William Carey University of Osteopathic Medicine. This southern belle has high goals. She wants to obtain become an internal medicine physician, specializing in gerontology.

Miss Missouri: Shelby Ringdahl is a 21 year old from Columbia, Missouri. She is a student at Texas Christian University, and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This budding beauty hopes to one day perform on Broadway.

Miss Montana: Hailing from Sidney, Montana, Sheridan Pope is a 21 year old student at Minnesota State University. She is currently studying to receive her bachelor’s degree in elementary inclusive education. Sheridan aspires to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 4

The 2014 Miss America Pageant is only a few short weeks away, and here at PageantDesigns.com we couldn’t be more excited! Over the past few weeks we’ve been counting down the days till the pageant by giving you a short biography on each of this year’s contestants. After reading our 2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants blog series you’ll be ready and set to watch the girls set to the stage in their designer pageant dresses.

Miss Kansas: Hailing from Manhattan, Kansas, Theresa Vail was crowned Miss Kansas on June 8, 2013. Theresa is a 22 year old senior at Kansas State University, where she’s studying Chemistry and Chinese. Not only is Theresa an excellent student, she also joined the Kansas Army National Guard when she was 17 years old, and has been training for her private pilot’s license.

Miss Kentucky: A senior vocal performance and political science major at the University of Kentucky, Jenna Day hopes to one day pursue a career in public service.  Jenna is the spokesperson for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Kentucky Proud program, which urges consumers to buy products produced in Kentucky.

Miss Louisiana: 21 year old Jaden Leach hails from West Monroe, La. This young beauty queen is a political science major at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Jaden is a member of the National Honor Society, and hopes to one day obtain a degree in family law.

Miss Maine: Kristin Korda is currently pursuing a degree in liberal arts at Southern Maine Community College. She was crowned Maine’s Outstanding Teen in 2009, winner of Maine’s Got Talent 2009, and was also a winner of America Idol Experience 2010.

Miss Maryland: Christina Denny is a student at the Park School of Baltimore. She is a member of the Dean’s List, spirit squad and the National Junior Honor Society. This 22 year old beauty queen hails from Owings Mills, Maryland.

2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 3

This week we continue our tour through the states, meeting each of the contestants for the Miss America 2014 Beauty Pageant. In just 5 weeks, our nation’s finest young women will take the stage in their gorgeous beauty pageant dresses to decide who will become the next Miss America. Join us once more as we introduce a few more of these wonderful ladies. Miss-America-2014-Contestants

Miss Georgia: 22 year old Carly Mathis dreams of earning a Juris Doctor Degree and becoming a political or legal correspondent for a national news network. With a long list of scholastic honors from the University of Georgia, Mathis has made her hometown of Leesburg proud. Her platform issue is heart health and heart safety; an issue which is close to her heart because it afflicts her family.

Miss Hawaii: Crystal Lee hails from Waipahu and will be sharing her talent of contemporary dance with the judges. Educated at the University of Hawaii, Lee is focusing on her platform of “Promoting the Gift of Life: Educating the Public about the Importance of Giving Blood.” She also hopes to become fluent in French and achieve success as an executive in the world of advertising and promotions.

Miss Indiana: Terrin Zoe Thomas is working toward obtaining a master’s degree in journalism from Indiana University and becoming a journalist for a major television network. At the tender age of 20, Thomas is supporting a platform of “Promoting Service-Learning: Connecting Academics and Volunteerism.” She’ll be singing for the judges and making her family and friends in Auburn very proud.

Miss Iowa: Keokuk, Iowa’s Nicole Kelly brings an inspiring tale to the stage—her own. At 23 years of age, Kelly has already interned with theater companies in New York City and Chicago, acted in a Tony-nominated Broadway play, and become an accomplished singer. She has done all of this while overcoming the difficulties of a physical handicap—being born without a forearm. Her platform issue highlights overcoming difficulties and she’ll be representing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

We wish the best of luck to all of the contestants when they appear this September in the 2014 Miss America Pageant. One of the biggest pageants in the land is only a few weeks away! Join us next time for an introduction to more remarkable women who will take the stage on September 15th.

2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 2

The 2014 Miss America Pageant is quickly approaching, and young women from each state are preparing to compete in this historic pageant. Join PageantDesigns.com, as we introduce you to the wonderful ladies who will be competing in this year’s Miss America Pageant.2014-Miss-America-Contestants

Miss Colorado: On June 29, 2013, Meg Kardos was crowned Miss Colorado. Kardos is a 23 year old student at the University of Denver, where she hopes to attain a law degree and a Master’s degree in Journalism. Kardos’ platform is Children’s Cause for Cancer Advocacy and her talent a vocal performance.

Miss Connecticut: Kaitlyn Tarpey, from Stamford, Connecticut is a 21 year old student at Honors College at Pace University. Tarpey has been a competitive Irish Step Dancer since she was young, and her talent is a traditional Irish Step Dance. Her platform issue is Our Time to Serve: Hiring and Housing Our Veterans. Tarpey is also involved with several veteran programs, including the Purple Heart Foundation and the National Veterans Services Fund.

Miss Delaware: 21 year old, Rebecca Lee Jackson is a student at the University of Delaware. Jackson’s platform issue is Fostering Music, and she has ambitions of performing as a singer across the world.

Miss District of Columbia: Bindhu Pamarthi will represent the District of Columbia at the 2014 Miss America Pageant. Pamarthi is a 23 year old, second year law student at Georgetown University Law Center. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her talent is a traditional Bollywood dance.
